Betamoxillin

Composition:

Each 100 gm contains:

Amoxicillin trihydrate………….57.40 gm.

(Equiv. to Amoxicillin base 50 gm)

Properties:

Betamoxillin W.S.P: is the trade name of Amoxicillin; it is antibiotic with a broad spectrum of activity against G+ve bacteria (Clostridia, Staph. Spp, Strept. Spp) and G-ve bacteria (E.coli, Salmonella, Klebsiella spp, Pasteurella, Haemophilus). Amoxicillin is a semisynthetic penicillin; it produces its bactericidal effect by inhibiting the cell wall synthesis.

Uses:

Poultry

Clostridia infections (necrotic enteritis), Colisepticemia, Fowl cholera (Pasteurella multocida), Salmonellosis, Coryza (H. gallinarum)

Doses:

For Poultry: 2 gm of the product / 5 liter drinking water once daily  for 3 – 5 days.

Warning & Precautions:

– Withdrawal time: 7 days in poultry.

– Not used with other bacteriostatics as sulphonamide,
Trimethoprim, Chloramphenicol and Oxytetracycline.

Contra – Indications:

  • Not used in chickens producing eggs for human consumption.
  • Not used in Chickens hypersensitive to it.

Side Effects:

  • Non in recommended dose.
  • Allergic reactions occur in high doses for long time.

 Storage:

Store at temperature not exceeding 30 ºC, in dry place and to be used immediately after opening.
