Each 1 kg contains:
Amprolium (as amprolium hydrochloride) 432 gm
Ethopabate 28 gm
Properties:
Amprolium hydrochloride is 1-[(4-amino-2-propyl-5-pyrimidinyl)methyl]-2-methylpyridinum chloride. It is a coccidiostat which is used for the treatment and prevention of coccidiosis in chickens, including laying hens and turkeys. Amprolium is a thiamine (vitamin B1) analogue and is a competitive antagonist of thiamine transport mechanisms, and interfere with the metabolism of glucides necessaries for coccidian multiplication and survival. Ethopabate is antiprotozoal, it is methyl4-acetamido-2-ethoxybenzoate, and amprolium is used incombination with ethopabate.
Indications:
-Treatment of intestinal coccidiosis caused by Eimeria acervulina, Eimeria brunette, Eimeria maxima, Eimeria mevati, Eimeria necatrix, and Eimeria tenella.
Target species:
-Poultry, pigeons and aviary birds.
Dosage of Administration:
Route: Orally via drinking water
0.28 – 0.56 gm / liter of drinking water for 5-7 consecutive days.
Special warning:
-As with any parasiticide, frequent treatment use of antiprotozoals from the same class may lead to the development of resistance.
Special precautions:
This is an irritant and corrosive product. It could cause airway eye and skin irritation.
Wear impervious gloves and protective glasses when handling the product.
Contra-Indications:
Not to be used in birds producing eggs for humans consumption.
Adverse effects:
Prolonged use can cause thiamin deficiencies.
Withdrawal time:
In target species
- Poultry: 3 days before slaughter
- Do not use in pigeon intended for use in human consumption.
- Layers: from laying age onward.
Storage conditions:
Store at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C in dry place, used immediately after opening, used for 24 hours after reconstitution and stored at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C and kept away from light.
