CYCLOSOLVE

Composition:

Each one  kg contains:

Oxytetracycline  HCl     ………………………………………………………….. 880  gm.

Properties:

Oxytetracycline is a member of tetracycline group. Oxytetracycline is a bacteriostatic antibiotic that interferes with intracellular subunits of the bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 30S ribosome. The access aminoacetyl-tRNA to the acceptor site of the mRNA ribosome complex is blocked in this manner, whereby coupling of the amino acids in the peptide chain being formed is prevented. Oxytetracycline is a broad spectrum antibiotic. It inhibits bacteria, Mycoplasma spp., Chlamydia spp., Rickettsia, and certain Protozoa. Oxytetracycline has a good activity against many Gram-positive bacteria, with the exception Enterococci and group D streptococci. The activity against Staphylococcus aureus is limited by resistance. Many non-enteric Gram-negative bacteria sensitive but Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Enterobacteriaceae are usually resistant. Many anaerobic bacteria, Mycoplasma spp. Spirochetes and sensitive Chlamydia spp., Rickettsia and Protozoa such as Theileria spp. and Anaplasma spp. are all sensitive.

Indications:

Non – Ruminating Calves:

  • Bronchopneumonia caused by Pasteurella spp.,Haemophylus somnus and Mycoplasma spp.

Broiler chickens :

  • Infections caused by E. coli.
  • Enteritis caused by Salmonella spp.
  • CRD caused by Mycoplasma gallisepticum.

Pigs:

  • Atrophic rhinitis caused by Pasteurella multocida and Bordetella bronchiseptica.
  • Bronchopneumonia caused by Pasteurella multocida, Streptococcus suis, Mycoplasma hyopneumonia and M. hyorhinis
  • Couple therapy pleuropneumonia caused by Actinobacillus pleuropneumonia, with symptoms in some animals in the flock are established.

Target species:

Non – Ruminating calves, broiler chickens and Pigs.

Dosage of Administration:

Route: Orally via drinking water

  • Non-ruminating calves:11 – 34 mg of product per kg body weight every 12 hours in drinking water for 3-5 consecutive days ( 0.55 – 1.7  gm / 50 kg body weight every 12 hours in drinking water for 3-5 consecutive days ).
    • Broiler chickens: 34 mg of product per kg body weight per day in drinking water for 3-7 consecutive days (1 gm / 3 liter of drinking water for 3-7 consecutive days).
    • Pig: 22 – 45 mg of product per kg body weight per day in drinking water divided into two administrations for 3-5 consecutive days. (1.8 – 3.6 gm / 10 liter of drinking water for 3-5 consecutive days).

Special warning:

  • Severely sick animals have altered drinking patterns and should therefore parenterally medicated.

Special precautions:

Special precautions for use in animals:

  • As a result of a probable variation in susceptibility of bacteria for oxytetracycline bacteriological and susceptibility testing are recommended.
  • Improper use of the product, increase bacterial resistance to tetracyclines and can therefore reduce the effectiveness of treatment with other tetracyclines, due to cross-resistance.

Contra – Indications:

Not for use in hens producing eggs for human consumption.

Adverse effects:

The use of tetracyclines during the period of tooth development including late pregnancy, may lead to tooth discolouration.

Withdrawal time:

  • Non-ruminating calves: 8 days before slaughter.
  • Broiler chickens: 8 days before slaughter.

Pigs: 5 days before slaughter
